So I'm back in college after an incredibly short feeling summer. I submitted a scholarship probation appeal to see if I can't get the cancellation turned around, and I've already done my first week's worth of assignments in Japanese.

For those that don't know, which I don't think anyone on dA did, my scholarship went under probation during the spring semester because the absences I had while in Japan were enough to bring my letter grade down by one in two of my classes. And in spring, I felt like I would be able to earn the GPA to average it back to the requirement, but I was .05 too short, and thus, my scholarship cancelled. In the appeal, I said that my GPA in the fall was docked for absences and didn't show my academic potential accurately, etc, and wrapped up the short essay at the end with something like, "I find it assinine to be punished for taking an enriching, amazing opportunity to travel the world" or some guilt trip like that.
And before you say anything, I had all my work completed BEFORE I left on the trip, and I did extra work while I was overseas taking pictures.

Come to think of it, did I ever mention anything about going to Japan here on dA.. ? 'Cuz I went in October. Haha. And then I went to England again in December, and I wonder why my bank account has dwindled to nothing. Lol.

So anyway, back to university.. here's my classes I'm taking:
Elementary Japanese MTWThF 11:00 - 11:50 am
New Media Studios IV MW 2:00 - 4:50 pm
Beginning Figure Drawing TTh 8:00 - 10:50 am
Honors US History to 1864 TTh 2:00 - 3:20 pm

As mentioned earlier, I've already done the first week of homework in Japanese. For now it's just review for me, we're going over hirigana, and classroom items, greetings, etc. Kyookasho, wakku, kokuban, and doa, for example, are classroom words. Lol.

Funny story first day, we were supposed to introduce ourselves to three classmates using the phrases just taught to us, and they introduce themselves to us, so I turn to this guy next to me and spout off in relatively good Japanese, "Hajimemashite. Kei-chan desu. Doozo yoroshiku."
And he says 'doozo yoroshiku' in return, and then it was his turn to say his. And sound this out, he said, "Hah.. gee.. me.. maw.. shee.. teh. .. what do I say next?" And I had to walk him through each line.
D; I guess it's not really funny or anything, but I thought it was. As we were leaving the class, he was like, "I didn't know it'd be that hard to pronounce."

And uh.. yeah. New Media today, I wonder how that's going to go. Kazemzadeh left UNT, so I have no idea what's going to happen with the program. UNT has never cared for it, it vies for student attention with Comm Design, and they CARE about Comm Design.
I've decided if the replacement prof is a load of crap and I don't see it worth it to stay in my major, I'm changing. Rather be an Illustration major than have to be subjected to a boring, hollow replacement of what my major used to be.
On the off chance that it'll be fine, I guess I'll continue to take New Media classes and hope for the best. Maybe the new prof is sincere, which I certainly hope. I have a sneaky suspicion, actually, that this prof is the one my former coworker was ranting about, but I'm really hoping I'm remembering wrong.

And yeah, I said former coworker. Internship at animation thing ended.. well, today actually. But I wasn't scheduled today, so no going. Turned in my last timesheet on Friday, everyone at the office was rather said we three interns were leaving. But at least they said I can still visit, which I will do, as I have a two hour gap between classes each day. Haha. It's either that or go work out. Hm, tough choice..

Anywho, gotta finish getting ready for class and go deposit my paycheck from the waterpark. I'll try to update more often, but you know how I always say that and end up not doing so for like, six months. I promise you guys four months. <3
